Students for Climate Action

On 20 May 2026, the Department of Languages and Global Studies at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage organized an environmental cleanup campaign at the historic Afrasiab settlement within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals course for second-year students of International Relations.

The initiative, held under the theme “Students for Climate Action,” aimed to promote environmental awareness, civic responsibility, and sustainable development among young people. During the activity, students collected waste, cleaned public areas, and discussed the importance of environmental protection and community engagement in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The campaign demonstrated the active role of youth in preserving cultural heritage sites and contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future. Students emphasized that even small local actions can have a positive global impact through responsibility, cooperation, and leadership.
