President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a speech at the COP29 conference in Baku

In his speech, the Head of State emphasized that large-scale reforms are being implemented in Uzbekistan to achieve carbon neutrality.

“We are firmly carrying out large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan to achieve carbon neutrality. We plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent by 2030. We are ready to further expand this commitment until 2050.

We will increase the share of ‘green’ energy up to 40 percent. We are creating clusters of electric vehicles and ‘green’ hydrogen, as well as solar and wind generation hubs. Within the framework of our ‘Green Space’ program, we are sharply increasing green areas,” said the President.
