The second forum of Uzbek-Kazakh scientific and creative intelligentsia was held in Samarkand
As part of the visit of the Kazakh parliamentary delegation to Uzbekistan, the second forum of Uzbek-Kazakh scientific and creative intellectuals was held at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand on the theme “From a Common Past to a Common Future”.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, emphasized that the peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have common roots, a united destiny, and a rich heritage formed over thousands of years at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road.
As noted, relations between the two countries are currently being enriched with new content thanks to the political will and joint efforts of the heads of state.
The Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, noted that interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries will continue to expand in key areas, from economics and politics to ecology, education and culture.
The forum specifically noted that the legacy of such great figures as Abu Ali ibn Sino, Abu Raykhan Beruni, al-Farabi, Mahmud Kashgari, Alisher Navoi, Babur and Abay is a solid foundation for spiritual closeness between our peoples. Cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Tashkent, Turkestan, Shymkent and Almaty were recognized as living witnesses of a common history and cultural heritage.
The conference noted that in recent years, humanitarian relations between the two countries have significantly intensified. In particular, it was noted that last year alone, 18 cultural and humanitarian events were held aimed at promoting the culture of Uzbekistan and the centuries-old traditions of the Uzbek people.
It was especially noted that representatives of Kazakhstan regularly participate in international festivals such as "Sharq taronalari" in Samarkand, "Maqom" in Shahrisabz, "Bakhshi" in Termez, "Buyuk ipak yuli" in Margilan, and "Hunarmand" in Kokand.
The results of cooperation in the field of science and education were in the focus of attention of the forum participants. It was noted that today 8,500 Uzbek students study in 116 educational institutions in Kazakhstan, and that effective cooperation has been formed between universities, academies of sciences, museums, and creative associations.
Thus, the second forum of Uzbek-Kazakh scientific and creative intelligentsia held in Samarkand served as an important platform for further strengthening humanitarian ties between the two peoples, discussing new joint initiatives and projects, as well as for exchanging views between people of science, culture and creativity.
At the same time, within the framework of the forum, the heads of delegations and participants got acquainted with the exhibition of samples of the scientific and creative heritage of the great poets, artists and scientists of the two peoples, as well as innovations and IT technology projects organized at the university.
