A seminar was organized for students on turning startup ideas into projects

On April 9, 2026, a seminar was organized on the topic “Opportunities for students through the Hackonnect and Techstars ecosystem” in cooperation with the Department of Scientific Research and Youth Work, Spirituality and Education. At the event, a representative of TechStars, an international startup expert, Madina Zakirova, and her team provided information to university students about turning startup ideas into projects. A question-and-answer session was organized between students and guests.

On December 12, 2025, the Karaganda National Research University named after Academician Ye.A. Buketov organized an international scientific and practical conference on the topic “The Digital Economy: A New Business Architecture and Competencies Transformation”. Associate Professor of our university, PhD N. Rakhimova participated in this conference online.

Developing smart tourist destinations: innovations in smart tourism and digital integration

Development of smart tourist destinations: innovations in smart tourism and digital integration On December 16, 2025, a scientific and practical conference was held at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage as part of the I-Student Forum. This conference was dedicated to innovative approaches in the field of modern tourism, the introduction of digital technologies, and the development of the concept of smart tourism. The 3rd area of ​​the conference was organized on the topic “Development of smart tourist destinations: innovations in smart tourism and digital integration”. A total of 90 scientific articles were submitted within the framework of this area across the master's and bachelor's degree programs. The presented works were distinguished by modern scientific approaches, innovative ideas, and practical proposals. These scientific articles were thoroughly analyzed by experienced and leading professors and teachers of the department based on predetermined scientific criteria. During the expert evaluation process, special attention was paid to the relevance, scientific novelty, practical significance, and thoroughness of the content of the articles.

An open practical lesson on the topic “Innovative project - a new form of organization” in Innovation Management was organized by the acting associate professor of the Department of “International Business and Creative Economics” N. Sultanova for students of the 3rd year Hotel Sam B223 group. The main goal of this open lesson was to develop innovative thinking among students, form creative ideas, and strengthen their skills in creating scientific and practical projects based on them.

Our university team won first place in the competition on the topic of "Development of Tourism"

As part of the festival under the slogan "Let's unite, young people of New Uzbekistan!" held on June 23 of this year, a competition on the topic "Development of Tourism" was organized among teams of higher educational institutions in our region. The goal of the competition, held at the Tourism Technical School under the Silk Road University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, is to make Samarkand the gateway to tourism for the new Uzbekistan and to identify potential specialists who can consistently provide exemplary service to guests. The participants of the competition competed in four areas: tourism startup projects, cooking, waiter service, and guide service. Qualified experts evaluated the work of the participants of the competition according to the conditions. According to the overall result, the team with the highest score was declared the winner of the competition. 1st place: Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage 2nd place: Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service 3rd place: University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology The winners were awarded certificates and souvenirs on behalf of the regional governor.
